Meet Melisa: Founder & Co-Owner Melisa Nielsen, LLC, Waldorf Essentials and Seasons of Seven ~ Director of Pedagogy, Lead Coach
Who am I? Well... let's see if I can condense it. I am a mom in my 40s with five children. My big kids are now adults and I have two left at home. I've been studying Steiner and Waldorf education deeply for nearly 20 years. I've been a wife, an ex-wife and a wife again. I am a stroke survivor. Two out of five children have spectrum struggles. My oldest has ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and my youngest has SPD (sensory processing disorder.) There is NEVER a dull moment in the Nielsen house.
About 14 years ago I took my study of Steiner and put it to work with other families in our series of curriculum "A Journey through Waldorf Homeschooling" and our business has grown from there.
I love my life. I love to watercolor paint, knit and embroider. I might kick your butt at a game of Uno or Candyland - you pick - and I really enjoy a quiet afternoon with my family.
We live in Arizona.
Meet Erik: Co-Founder & Co-Owner Waldorf Essentials & Seasons of Seven, Editor, Director of Digital MediaI've worn many hats in my life but these days I probably wear more than ever. They can be stacked so high I need to duck when I enter rooms, and I'm only 5'6. Right now, I'm a husband, father, entrepreneur, videographer and content creator, editor and teacher. Over the years I've been a journalist and filmmaker. Melisa and I decided to take a leap of faith years ago when I quit my newspaper job to pursue building Waldorf Essentials. It’s a decision we've never regretted. We are constantly bolstered by the kind words of clients whom we have helped over the years.
Meet Nicole: VP of Operations at Melisa Nielsen LLC, A Director at Seasons of Seven ~ Waldorf Essentials Coach
Hi! I am Nicole.
I am married to Mr. Incredible and a mother of three beautiful children. We live in the Colorado. After several difficult years in the public-school system we learned about Waldorf Education. I fell in love with it right away and knew it was exactly what our family needed. It wasn’t just about a child centered education, but also how it would help us grow as a family. We started with Waldorf Essentials in 2016, in 2017 I became a local TFW leader and now I get to work on so many wonderful projects for Melisa Nielsen LLC! I love sharing what I have learned and enjoy helping others along their journey. Waldorf Essentials is a huge blessing in our life and our family is continually growing closer from the things we are learning. I look forward to getting to know everyone better and supporting you along your Waldorf journey.
Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with family and friends, hiking and reading a good book!

Meet Taylor: Content Manager
Hi! I am Taylor.
I’m a 27-year-old mom of two wonderful little ones: a sweet six-year-old girl and a very silly two-year-old boy. I began searching through education styles as soon as my daughter was born but could not find any I felt connected to or thought would suit our family well. As the daughter of an art teacher, I found myself very drawn to Waldorf Education, specifically Waldorf homeschooling. I love spending my days learning, playing, creating, and cooking side-by-side with my children. My wonderful husband was not as quick to love Waldorf or homeschooling, but that changed rather quickly upon seeing a shift in our household. He has fully embraced all the gnomes, fairies, and random nature treasures that now float through our home.
Meet Jen: Assistant to Operations & Community Engagement
Hello my name is Jen!
I live in Southern California where I am fortunate to enjoy both the beaches and mountains close to me. I am blessed to be a mama of 5 kiddos and 1 cat. We have home schooled for 8+ years which has truthfully been one of the best decisions ever! Waldorf Essentials is such a beautifully laid out program that has significantly benefited our family. One day I hope to take our homeschooling journey on the road and truly embrace my traveling spirit. I am so excited to be a part of the Waldorf Essentials team!!
Meet Lucia: Coach and Community Support
I live with my husband and daughter in London. I researched and acquired a good knowledge in different models of education before opting for the Waldorf approach and Waldorf Essentials. I was attracted by the simplicity and wisdom of the method. You can do a train with pine cones and yarn, you do not need expensive equipment, and you just need your voice for music, daily movement, being outdoors in nature, a rhythmic home environment and simplicity in the early years.
Our daughter attended a Waldorf school for a while but she now prefers to be home educated by us using the Waldorf curriculum at home. We were able to successfully accomplish this goal by using Waldorf Essentials.
Since a very young age I developed an interest in counseling and psychotherapy and have attended different courses. I have an interest in nutrition and natural ways of healing and I worked many years as a dental hygienist. I speak English and Spanish.
